We have various options for the hockey you want to play and make the most of, whether you have ambitions, want to get fit and meet new people or be the best that you can be, we have an offer for you.
Melton Pumas
We welcome children from the age of 5-18. Our aim is to balance inclusion and access with performance to enable every player to achieve their goals, whatever level.
All training sessions are held on the astroturf pitch at Melton Sports Village. Training is on a Wednesday and starts at 6pm and ends at 7pm. Please arrive in good time to start these sessions promptly.
We have a selection of sticks for new players to use and all players must wear both shin pads and gum shields. If trying out the sport then it is acceptable to not have a gumshield for the first couple of weeks, but when playing regularly a gum shield is compulsory for junior players.
Melton Badgers play fixtures in the East Midlands Badgers League. The team provides game experience for those new to the sport alongside more experienced players.
Both boys and girls can play and compete in the same side and also those not old enough to take part in league hockey.
Indoor hockey takes place on a Monday evening at Melton Sports Village 18:00-19:00. The sessions are by invitation only due to the restricted space of indoor hockey.
The team also takes part in the England Hockey National Competition held during the winter break.
Masters hockey is available to all of those over 40 years of age.
Melton Mens Masters side enters the national cup at level 4 and plays ad-hoc friendly fixtures against other local masters sides.
